I’ve always had a passion and connection with animals and looking back as a child it was always me and my dog. The bond I had with my dog growing up and my love for animals made me choose to turn that passion into a career. I completed my formal Dog Training education in 2006 at Triple Crown Dog Training Academy. They taught me a wide variety of training methods, and I was able to choose which one best fit my views, and the path I wanted to go in my dog training career.

Over the years since then, I’ve worked as a Dog Trainer offering private lessons at Doggy Daycare facilities while observing, and evaluating canine behavior in pack play, social environments. In my experience I’ve learned that every dog is unique and different, just like we are, and it’s so much fun getting to know each dog I work with. With each dog comes a new story and teaches me something new. It’s very rewarding watching them develop into well behaved pups, and watching them connect with their owners on a deeper level.

In my training lessons I use a positive approach to connect you and your dog, and believe physical punishments or harsh reprimands are not necessary. The more you reward good behavior, the more often your dog will offer it. They just need guidance from you, their owner and friend.

My passion for educating dogs led me to open Bark Tales Academy in 2020 to help one family at a time achieve happiness, and the kind of bond with their dog like I have with mine. Dogs are my life, and I am so grateful to have chosen a career path that helps me understand them more and more each day. In my free time I engage and compete in Canine Sports with my personal dogs. We enjoy Flyball, Barn Hunt, Agility and Tricks together as a team, and in the past Herding, and Scent Work were a few of our favorite activities to do as well.
